RE:  2010-2011 District 6080 Simplified Grants (DSG)

I am pleased to announce that our District 6080 has 25 $1000 grants available for the upcoming year and they require a minimum $1000 match from our club. If you have a suitable local or international project please let me know ASAP so I can present it to the board for consideration. These grants are supported through charitable giving to the Rotary Foundation and the deadline for submission to the District is August 1, 2010. Here are the primary criteria outlined on the District website (www.rotary6080.org):

1. We can partner with other local clubs.
2. Estimated start date and completion date.
3. Describe project, location and its objectives.
4. Describe how the project will benefit the community and/or improve the lives of the less fortunate.
5. Describe the non financial participation by Rotarians in the project.
6. Provide details regarding the publicity of the project (i.e.: Newspaper articles, television…).
7. Identify cooperating organizations if applicable (The District requires paperwork).
8. What is the overall budget (income and expenses).
9. We can be awarded more than one grant if we choose to participate in multiple projects.
10. Preferential treatment is given to clubs that raise more than the $1000 minimum match.
11. DSG’s cannot be used retroactively.
